Es un placer presentaros la actividad más importante que organizamos desde Ensemble XXI.
Yo participo como profesor de guitarra y también como director de un gran ensemble formado por todos los alumnos del Curso.

Tarde de primavera. Spring’s afternoon.

Hoy ha llovido en Lleida, algo cada vez menos frecuente.
De repente, por la tarde, la lluvia ha cesado y el sol ha aparecido entre las nubes bañando a la ciudad con una sorprendente luz alegre, luminosa, mágica.
Albert y yo hemos decidido coger nuestras bicicletas y disfrutar de este inesperado regalo y pasear al lado del río. El aire olía a tierra y hierba mojada.
El agua del río brillaba agradecida a la luz del sol, mientras el enorme castillo contemplaba la ciudad orgulloso de tanta belleza.
Parecía un viejo padre que contempla, lleno de bondad, como se divierten sus hijos.
Es como si la ciudad hubiera nacido de nuevo, purificada por la transparencia del agua.
A nuestro lado hemos visto familias, jóvenes enamorados, inmigrantes…todos parecían mirar al futuro con esperanza, nada malo podía pasar con un paisaje así.
Hoy Lleida me ha parecido la ciudad más bella del mundo.

Today it rained in Lleida, something increasingly rare.
Suddenly, in the afternoon, the rain has stopped and the sun has appeared in the clouds bathes the town with a surprising and cheerful light, bright, magical.
Albert and I have decided to take our bikes and enjoy this unexpected gift and take a walk beside the river.
The air smelled of wet earth and grass.
The river shone grateful to the sunlight, while the huge castle contemplated the city prouds of so much beauty.
It seemed an old father who see, full of goodness, as their children are having fun.
It’s as if the city had been born again, purified by the water transparency.
We saw families, young lovers, immigrants … all seemed to look to the future with hope, nothing bad could happen in a landscape like this.
Today Lleida has seemed to me the most beautiful city in the world.

Basura. Garbage.

Desde el lanzamiento del Sputnik, en 1957, hemos enviado al espacio 6.000 satélites.
Actualmente, sólo funcionan 800, los demás están estropeados o han colisionado entre si.
Esta impresionante imagen nos muestra la basura que rodea nuestro bonito planeta azul y que ha nadie parece preocupar.
Es para llorar :-(

Since the Sputnik launch, in 1957, we have sent 6,000 satellites into space.
Currently, only 800 work, others are damaged or have collided with each other.
This impressive picture shows the garbage that surrounds our beautiful blue planet and that has no one seems to worry.
It is to weep :-(

¡Estoy muy contento! :-)
Después de dos años de trabajo, he finalizado todas las obras que formarán el 5º Cd de Ensemble XXI titulado «Secretos de Papel».
Estas son las obras:
-Mi obra original «Secretos de Papel» formada por 6 movimientos cortos.
-«Las normas de la casa de la sidra» de Rachel Portman. Preciosa melodía de la banda sonora de esta película.
– Las obras tradicionales «Balada y danza irlandesa», «Tarde de lluvia y de fiesta», «Fiesta de San Juan».
– Las melancólicas canciones inglesas: «Let the cold wind blow» y «Ned on the Hill»
– Y la divertida canción «The constant lovers».
La grabación será el próximo 6 de septiembre y el Concierto de presentación el 20 de diciembre en el Auditorio S.Francisco de Monzón. He invitado a Maurice Summerfield, de la prestigiosa revista «Classical Guitar». (Tengo la esperanza que pueda venir)
Tengo previsto publicar estas obras en los primeros meses de 2009 en su versión para Conjunto de Guitarras y en el 2010 en su versión para Dúo de Guitarras.
Y ahora…tendré de nuevo que buscar una nueva semilla.

I am very happy! :-)
After two years of work, I have completed all scores that will form the 5th Cd of Ensemble XXI entitled «Secrets of Paper»
These are the works:
– My original work «Secrets of Paper» formed by 6 short movements.
— «The rules of the cider house» by Rachel Portman. Beautiful melody of the movie’s soundtrack.
— The traditional works «Ballad and Irish dance,» «Afternoon of rain and feast»,» «Saint John party’s.»
— The British melancholic songs: «Let the cold wind blow» and «Ned on the Hill»
— And the fun song «The constant lovers.»
The recording will be next September 6 and the opening concert on December 20 at San Francisco Hall of Monzón (Spain). I have invited Maurice Summerfield, of the prestigious magazine «Classical Guitar». (I hope he will come…)
I have prepared to publish these works in the first months of 2009 in its Guitar Ensemble version and in 2010 in its Guitar Duo version.
And now … I will be back to look for a new seed.

Ensemble Khitarodia

He recibido un precioso e-mail de Rafael Leiva, profesor del Conservatorio de Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real), donde me habla del nacimiento del Ensemble Khitarodia.
Según me cuenta, este grupo ha nacido gracias a mis composiciones y arreglos.
Esto me llena de alegría y de ilusión y me anima a seguir trabajando para convencer a otros profesores de añadir otros instrumentos a sus grupos de guitarras.
De nuevo, pienso que mi trabajo vale la pena, y pienso seguir luchando, día a día, por mejorar la calidad de mi música y por darla a conocer a más colegas y amantes de la guitarra.
El me dice que sus alumnos han disfrutado mucho y estoy seguro que Rafael ha de ser un buen profesor que no ha dudado en hacer algo nuevo con sus alumnos que le ha supuesto mucho trabajo y esfuerzo pero…¿puede haber una satisfacción más grande para un profesor que ver felices a sus alumnos descubriendo algo nuevo?

I have received a wonderful e-mail of Rafael Leiva, professor at the Conservatory of Valdepeñas (Ciudad Real) (Spain), he talk me about the Ensemble Khitarodia bhirt’s.
He tells me that this group has been born because my compositions and arrangements.
This fills me with joy and illusion and encourage me to continue working to convince other teachers to add other instruments in their only guitar groups.
Again, I think that my job it is worth, and I will continue fighting, day after day, to improve the quality of my music and make it available to more colleagues and guitar lovers’.
He tells me that his students have enjoyed a lot and I am sure that Rafael must be a good teacher who has not hesitated to do something new with his students that has meant a lot of work and effor but… Can exist a bigger satisfaction for a teacher to see happy his students discovered something new?

Hoy he vuelto a sentir tu suave caricia en mis piernas.
Nos conocemos bien.
Hechizado por tus formas, te he contado mis pensamientos, mis problemas.
Tu me has dicho al oído, con tu lenguaje secreto, susurrante, lleno de miles de voces:
«Aprende de mi, si no puedes vencer una dificultad, haz como yo con las piedras, acarícialas, sin violencia, busca otro camino, no te detengas nunca, siempre hay una forma de seguir avanzando hacia el mar»
El aire está perfumado por la flor del melocotón, todo rebosa vida a tu alrededor, porque tú eres Vida, y después de tantos años, sumergido en tu transparencia verde, me siento parte de ti, alimentado por ti, como los álamos que hunden sus raíces buscándote.
Siempre igual, siempre diferente.
Tu brillante mirada cura mis heridas.

Today I again feel your gentle caress on my legs.
